FOUR FIRST STEPS TO TAKE when there is a death, or one is expected, or if you are considering a prepay plan
DETAILS regarding each step are located below these four previews. =========================================================.=========================================================
1) THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP: KNOW WHAT A FAIR PRICE IS. Then FIND A FAIR-PRICED MORTUARY.
If you SKIP this step - you WILL BE CHEATED of $1,000s by a neighborhood mortuary (funeral home). Don't use a nearby neighborhood mortuary. They have the highest prices in most communities.
♦ HOW TO FIND a FAIR-PRICED Mortuary quickly and easily is explained below. ♦ FAIR PRICES for various services are listed below.
=========================================================.=========================================================
2) HAVE ALL SERVICES IN A CHURCH, SYNAGOGUE or HOME (not in a mortuary). Don't use a nearby, high-priced mortuary to use its "chapel". Use your church where you celebrate all your important religious events. This enables you to use a fair-priced mortuary anywhere.
=========================================================.=========================================================
3) DON'T BUY A FRAUDULENT "Protective Seal" GASKET CASKET. These BLOAT and SEVERELY DAMAGE EVERY body. Many EXPLODE daily in mausoleums. MOST FAMILIES buy them (your family, too) because your neighborhood morticians coax all families to buy them (by using special lighting, comments) to obtain their high profit. They even lie to say this damage doesn't happen. For photos and clear explanation of the damage, click here: Topic 4 - Destructive Gasket Caskets.
INSTEAD, buy a Beautiful NON-GASKET Casket. Safe. Less-costly. Many models, colors.
=========================================================.=========================================================
4) DON'T BUY A PREPAY PLAN Serious problems: Salespersons use lies and fraud in homes. High prices. Deceptive contracts. MONEY magazine says "Don't Prepay For Your Funeral."
(Detailed explanations below.) =========================================================.========================================================= =========================================================.=========================================================
THE FOUR IMPORTANT STEPS:
=========================================================.========================================================= =========================================================.=========================================================
1) THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP: FIND A FAIR-PRICED MORTUARY (funeral home).
This one step is the most important information for every family. This step determines whether you will pay $2,000, $5,000, or up to $10,000+ for exactly the SAME funeral, casket or cremation. The ONLY difference in prices is the amount of profit that each mortuary wants.
Don't pick a nearby, neighborhood mortuary. They have the highest prices in most cities. Only a few mortuaries in each community have fair prices and, most likely, they are not in your neighborhood.
TO FIND A FAIR-PRICED MORTUARY immediately without further reading, click here for an explanation of how to find one quickly and easily. See the FAIR prices below as a guide.
HERE ARE FAIR PRICES to seek: (These are actual prices of mortuaries connected with our Good Shepherd community program which make a fair profit - so there is no excuse for the high prices of most mortuaries.) ♦ DON'T pay higher prices than these FAIR prices.
♦ $1,952 - TWO-DAY FUNERAL with beautiful metal casket (includes cremation if desired) Caskets are available in a variety of models and colors. (See caskets below.) Don't pay $4,000 to $10,000 charged by most mortuaries for the SAME funeral and caskets.
♦ $1,752 - ONE-DAY FUNERAL with beautiful metal casket (not $3,500-$9,000 most charge). ,
♦ $650 - IMMEDIATE BURIAL with a basic casket (not $1,200 to $3,500 charged by most).
♦ $620 to $950 - BEAUTIFUL CASKETS - Metal or wood, in dozens of models and colors from the best-known manufacturers (not prices of $1,500 to $4,000). Mortuaries buy these for $420 to $750 wholesale to make profits of $1,500 to $4,000, on each casket. See color photos of these FAIR-priced caskets in Topic 2 - Color Brochure. Click here.
All the FAIR-PRICED caskets above are sold at $200 PROFIT over wholesale on each casket, which is sufficient profit for any efficient mortuary (NOT the $1,000 to $4,000 PROFIT on every casket that you see at your "friendly," "caring," price-gouging neighborhood mortuaries).
See FAIR and UNFAIR prices of many caskets that mortuaries sell for $620 to $30,000, and their correct wholesale prices in Topic 3 - Beautiful Caskets. Click here.
♦ $645 - DIRECT CREMATION complete, with any refrigeration needed (not $1,000 to $3,000). Click here to see "Topic 1A - Cremation" a long printable sheet with a printable FORM to use to get CORRECT prices when phoning mortuaries. We give it to all considering cremation. (Even if you are not considering cremation, you may want to read this Topic to learn about the many cruel tricks that neighborhood morticians use on your neighbors every day.)
Morticians have designed many tricks to make cremation cost more than some funerals because many families are switching to cremation to save money, The sheet explains more than a dozen tricks used by mortuaries with families in nearly community. Here are a few:
1) False, low prices given on the phone to trick people to come to a high-priced mortuary. (We explain how to obtain correct prices.) [A well-known Phoenix area mortuary tells families who call that cremation is $300 - although they will end up paying $1,795.] 2) $300 a day for unneeded refrigeration (delaying cremation brings in $1,500 or more); 3) Forcing families to buy a costly casket that will never be seen (and maybe never used); 4) Wrong ashes given to many families - and how to prevent this. 5) Fake "Cremation Societies" that charge high prices - and don't cremate the bodies.
♦ DON'T pay higher prices than the FAIR prices above. Don't be robbed by the high prices, high profits, and deceptive tactics (explained below) to make morticians rich.
BAD ADVICE: Don't take the advice of friends and neighbors; they haven't checked to find out where the few fair- priced mortuaries are, and don't know about the many thousands of dollars difference in prices. Don't rely on advice of clergy, social workers, hospital and hospice staff. Most clergy and the others know little or nothing about various mortuaries' prices. High-priced mortuaries offer generous gifts (bribes often worth thousands of dollars) to clergy of nearby churches to coax them to: a) distribute their advertising materials and calendars at Sunday services, b) not warn about their high prices and unfair tactics, and c) recommend their high-priced mortuaries.
================================================'================================================ ================================================'================================================
2) HAVE ALL SERVICES in a CHURCH, Synagogue or Home (not in a mortuary) In this way, you don't need to use the chapel of a high-priced mortuary nearby. Your church is where your family has always celebrated important religious events. Why should you pay a ridiculous high price for your funeral and casket to a nearby rip-off mortuary just to use its artificial "chapel"?
The industry works hard to maintain the myth that you should use a nearby mortuary - so that you will use it and pay its outrageous prices because you believe the myth.
High-priced mortuaries give gifts/bribes to many clergy to coax them to not permit you to use your church for some of the services - to force you to use a nearby mortuary. If your pastor does this, call your denomination, bishop, newspapers and TV to stop the bribery and injustice.
================================================'================================================ ================================================'================================================
3) DON'T BUY A DESTRUCTIVE "Protective seal" GASKET CASKET. MOST FAMILIES buy them (your family probably always does) - not knowing that they BLOAT and SEVERELY DAMAGE EVERY BODY of your loved ones (even if they have a "burp valve" that Batesville and other casket companies brag about), and many EXPLODE daily in U.S. mausoleums. Click here to read Topic 4 - Fraudulent GASKET Caskets.
BUY a SAFE, LESS-COSTLY, BEAUTIFUL, NON-GASKET CASKET.
Hundreds of of beautiful metal non-gasket caskets in dozens of models and colors are available in two hours from local distributors at no extra charge. See color photos and fair prices of some, click here.
ASK to see these caskets or color photos of them (all mortuaries have large color photos). If a mortuary refuses, LEAVE and contact another mortuary that doesn't rip-off every family.
================================================'================================================ ================================================'================================================
4) DON'T BUY A PREPAY PLAN This is because of the many problems:
High prices, usually much higher than if paying at the time of death.
Salespersons use lies and fraud in homes.
Deceptive contracts.
MONEY magazine says "Don't Prepay For Your Funeral." because of all of the problems listed above. These words are the headline of an edition of MONEY's "Retire With Money" newsletter.

ADDITONAL INFORMATION
COST OF A FUNERAL TO A MORTUARY: Why the great difference in prices? Mortuaries don't want you to know that a two-day funeral with a beautiful casket in a variety of models and colors can cost EFFICIENT mortuaries less than $1,000 to $1,300 for the casket and all operating expenses. That means that ALL OF THE PRICE ABOVE $1,300 is PROFIT.
LOW WHOLESALE COST OF CASKETS TO MORTUARIES: Mortuaries also don't want you to know that they can obtain caskets, in dozens of beautiful models and colors, from well-known manufacturers for only $425 to $700 wholesale, delivered the same day from local distributors. There is NO EXCUSE for prices of $1,500 to $5,000 and up - except a desire for outrageous profit. (Click here to see FAIR and UNFAIR prices of various brands of caskets - from $620 to $30,000. And their low wholesale cost to mortuaries.)
================================'================================
WHY DO MORTUARIES RIP-OFF EVERY FAMILY?
HIGH PROFIT DESIRED: $500, $3,000, $5,000 or $8,000 PROFIT IS OBTAINED by different mortuaries for EXACTLY THE SAME funeral and casket: Some mortuaries are satisfied with $500 profit over the $1,500 cost, and charge a $2,000 FAIR price for a funeral and beautiful casket. However, others want $3,000 profit over the $1,500, so their price is $4,500. Others want $5,000 or $8,000 profit, so their unfair price is $6,500 or $9,500 for the same two-day funeral and casket.
MORTUARY WASTE BECAUSE OF TOO MANY MORTUARIES: Studies have shown that many mortuary buildings, vehicles and employees are unused and wasted 80% of the time. Many owners pay themselves high salaries, and give low pay to their employees. (Ask some employees how much they get paid.) Owners waste money on fancy chandeliers and thick carpets to impress you. You don't need these, especially if you have all services in your church. Don't waste your money helping them to become rich quickly.
DECEPTIVE PRACTICES CAN DOUBLE THE PROFIT obtained by outrageous high prices: More than 130 deceptive tactics are used daily by mortuaries, cemeteries and prepay plans nationwide. Most families have never heard of most of them, and never noticed the tactics when a mortuary, cemetery or prepay salesperson was using them.
More of the tactics are used by high-priced mortuaries than by other mortuaries - which is a good reason not to use a high-priced one. The tactics will increase the price above what they say on the phone or what is on their price list, and can even double the total price of the funeral. To see these, click here: Topic 8 - 130+ Deceptive Tactics.
